EVault™, A Seagate Company, Releases Landmark Search, Full Function, Review and Early Case Assessment Capabilities in an Integrated E-Discovery Suite

Software, Appliance Or As A Managed Service, MetaLINCS E-Discovery Suite 5 Integrates New Pin-Point Search, Review Team Workflow And Redaction Capabilities Significantly Reducing Electronic Data Discovery Costs

SANTA CLARA, Calif., February 2, 2009 - EVault™, Inc., A Seagate® Company (NASDAQ: STX), today announced a landmark release of its flagship E-Discovery product, MetaLINCS® E-Discovery Suite 5. In a single unified platform, MetaLINCS E-Discovery Suite 5 integrates E-Discovery steps from Processing, Review, and Analysis to Production while adding powerful new capabilities for Search, Review and Early Case Assessment that extensively increase electronic data discovery productivity. These unparalleled features include defensible Pinpoint Search, Full-Function Review for large teams with fully integrated Redaction, and improved analytics driven Early Case Assessment to quickly scope E-Discovery projects. Users can now move from Early Case Assessment to full review in one common user interface (UI) by simply switching screens.

Unparalleled Pinpoint Search Pinpoint Search ensures in a powerful and flexible way that the keyword searches users specify are returning exactly the documents they expect, no more, no less. Many search options available today are either over or under inclusive. MetaLINCS E-Discovery Suite 5 Pinpoint Search circumvents these issues with Pinpoint Search Viewing and Pinpoint Search Selection. These key capabilities save costs by removing unnecessary documents from review, and avoiding the risk of clawback.

Pinpoint Search Viewing During a typical search, iterating keywords for a case, matching the search terms happens in several ways. One method involves expansion of wildcards such as "*". Another method is to find forms of the same word that match, so the word "earn" finds documents containing "earned", "earning", "earnings", and "earns". The Pinpoint Search viewer shows both the precise document terms that were matched by each search term and the document terms that were similar but were not matched. In this case, the viewer would highlight "earner", which would not have been matched and yet could be important to the case.

Pinpoint Search Selection
Once the items are clearly visible, each match can be included or excluded in a simple and intuitive way with a single click. Now searches are easily controllable to a finer level of detail than ever before, and search results are defensible to the finest detail.

EDRM XML Search Standard
As an EDRM member and participant in the EDRM search project, MetaLINCS E-Discovery Suite 5 is among the first to fully support the Search Specification standard. It can both parse XML search specifications for use, and generate the XML equivalent of searches for the purposes of documentation or interoperability with other systems.

Next Generation Review with Built-In Redaction
The combination of advanced automated content analysis and an easy to use graphical web UI enables MetaLINCS E-Discovery Suite 5 to perform context sensitive review. Review documents can be sorted by topic, which affords reviewers higher productivity and accuracy. Case managers can easily implement multi-pass reviews with large or small teams, through the addition of custom review assignments, review definitions and security groups. The availability of tiff images for managed services customers, and a built-in high performance redaction capability, provides translucent and opaque viewing modes for redacted documents. Powerful management features to execute and monitor the review process complete the review picture.

Early Case Assessment
Early Case Assessment (ECA) provides a quick overview of the entire case data, so appropriate legal and E-Discovery decisions can be made early in the review process. In addition ECA assists case managers in scoping the electronics data discovery effort, helping to build a review team of the right size and unique skills. MetaLINCS E-Discovery Suite 5 quickly provides information about the quantity and types of documents, the mix of languages in the case documents, and confirms the custodian list is neither too broad nor narrow. Now users will have their foreign documents automatically identified and segregated at the outset.

"Customers continue to demand reduction in cost, risk and complexity of the E-Discovery process, especially in today’s economic environment," said Ramon Nuñez, senior vice president of the MetaLINCS business unit at EVault. "MetaLINCS E-Discovery Suite 5 limits the number of tools and data transformation steps required to respond to E-Discovery requests setting a new industry standard for productivity. With our unique combination of professional services and technology, we believe we exceed our customer’s needs for comprehensive and accurate data processing, early case assessment, and document review and production."

Flexible Deployment Options Based on Organizational Need
MetaLINCS E-Discovery Suite 5 software is available as an annual or perpetual software license. First Pass Processing is available as a preloaded, easy to integrate appliance. The Full Suite or First Pass Processing capabilities can also be acquired as a managed, hosted service through the EVault E-Discovery secure hosting center, with a modest up-front investment and pay as you go ROI.
