EVAULT ADDS SUPPORT FOR MICROSOFT CLUSTER SERVICESOnline Backup and Recovery Leader Also Enhances Email Archiving, SQL and Exchange Support Emeryville, Calif. – August 24, 2005 – EVault, Inc., the leading provider of secure, online backup and recovery solutions, today announced support for Microsoft Windows Clustering Services in Version 5.3 of both its EVault InfoStage® online backup and recovery software and the EVault Protect™ managed service offering. A Windows server cluster provides high availability by linking together multiple servers or nodes. If a node stops functioning, the workload moves to another node in the cluster. Support for MS Windows Clustering Services is important to support business-critical applications such as Microsoft Exchange, or MS SQL Server-based applications that run on clusters. Support for Exchange has also been enhanced. EVault agents can now backup and restore multiple Exchange Groups in parallel, shrinking backup and recovery time intervals, while backups of Exchange 2000 servers can be restored to Exchange 2003 servers, simplifying migrations. With EVault’s unique mailbox level restore, administrators can recover a single message or a single mailbox with just a few clicks, minimizing storage requirements on production servers and avoiding the lengthy recovery process of restoring an entire Exchange database. “Companies with mission-critical applications running on clustered servers need a secure, reliable backup solution that is also easy to configure and use,” said Tony Barbagallo, senior vice president of marketing at EVault. “Our new offerings extend our business continuity solutions to the most demanding environments, further expanding EVault’s leadership in the online backup and recovery market.” Email Compliance EnhancementsEVault also announced a new version of its EVault ProMail managed service that captures, monitors and archives email and attachments for regulatory compliance. EVault ProMail 2.1 is designed specifically for financial service organizations; Version 2.1 enhances the SEC compliant DVD archiving capabilities with flexible long-term retention policies. A new hosted option supports email archiving for companies that rely on ISPs to host their email, in addition to companies that manage their own email servers, and includes options for anti-virus protection and spam filtering.
