Mikey Butler

Mikey Butler, vice president of research and development, anchors a team of software engineers responsible for creating the company’s industry-leading, next-generation Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) offering.

Mikey has spent over 30 years in the software industry. The first half of his career focused on system coding at Digital Equipment, Bank of America, Data General, Rolm, and Sun. The later half has been forged through roles of increasing responsibility in engineering management for Cisco Systems, Sybase, Cloudscape, BEA Systems, SAP, and Intuit.

Mikey was named one of the 50 Most Important African Americans in Technology at the 2009 Soul of Technology Innovation and Equity Symposium.

Mikey prides himself on a childlike wonder about life. He credits his four children and two grandchildren as well as his love of yoga, 3D animation, volunteering, travel, and salsa dancing with helping him maintain it.

Mikey attended Harvard University.
